Tired of changing

Although you have some energy again, you will notice that you get tired very quickly. Much faster than the other colleagues. That makes perfect sense. Your energy level is still low. Just going to work demands a lot from the little bit of energy that you have.

In addition, you are in a process of change and that also requires a lot of energy. You are working hard to change the situation so that your recovery succeeds and that this doesn’t happen again. The road you are going is very bumpy. You will progress step by step, by trial and error. This often goes well, but also leads to disappointments. That is also very tiring.

You will have to deal with this and that takes a lot of energy. Being tired at this stage is therefore quite logical. Both from working, but certainly from the changes you make.

Also keep in mind that this will take a long time. It will take you months to implement these changes.

Own experience

I was quite tired after a day of therapeutic work. Of course, from the work, the colleagues, the incentives, etc., but certainly also from the urge to implement changes.

That last one got me thinking a lot. The thoughts were about: what to do, what not, what to say yes to and where to say no. What needs to be changed and what can stay etc.

That was exhausting and goes on for a long time. Even now, after 2.5 years, I’m still thinking, practicing to avoid overshooting again.

What’s positive

If you consider the effort that the change process entails, you accept that this will be added. And that you have to pay extra attention to save energy.

Tips:

1.         Becoming aware of this situation makes you accept the fatigue

2.         Splitting the fatigue into work and change causes the accents to be different.

3.         Give in to the fatigue, land in the situation here to.

For the employer

That the employee is tired, that is understandable. In particular, the change process means that a lot of energy goes into thinking about how I come back and what do I want and what do I not want etc.

It can help to have an eye for that. To be open to that and to adjust the work accordingly.

Then, as an involved employer, you are also aware of the process and you can think along in solutions.
